Birth of a sports temple
On April 23, 1939, Prince Louis II inaugurated the enclosure bearing his name. Theater of the first major victories of AS Monaco, the first Stade Louis II hosted the Rouge et Blanc until 1985.

A new era
Near the first Louis-II stadium, a new area was built in the early 80s on the extension at sea Fontvieille.

The arches rise
In 1985, the second Stade Louis II was inaugurated by Prince Rainier III. For over thirty years, AS Monaco has played here against the biggest French and European teams under the arches.
